Campervan / Motorhome Awnings

Campervan and motorhome awnings are categorised into height ranges.

To find the correct awning height, measure from the ground to where the awning will attach to (cm).

You will also need to measure the max attachment length (cm)If you have a windout awning or awning rail on your vehicle.

Connecting Your Awning

The best way to connect your awning is to use an awning rail which is fixed to your vehicle. This can either be a standard 'C' channel or the awning channel on the underside of most windout awnings.

The channel on a standard awning rail is 6mm. If connecting to a windout, please be sure the awning you buy has twin beading which includes the 6mm and 4mm beading needed.

If your vehicle has neither option. Most awnings come with 'Up and Over' straps which can be thrown over the top of the vehicle and pegged down on the other side.

Driveaway Kits

For vehicles with awning rails or windout awnings, it is recommended to use a driveaway kit.

This attachment is a strip of beading that will slot between the awning's access zone and your rail or windout.

When you wish to drive away from your awning, the adapter strip can be removed which quickly releases the awning from the rail. Otherwise, pulling the entire awning back out of your awning channel is the only way to release it from the vehicle
